NOVEMBER EVENT

↞NAVIGATION
wishful thinking The sun rises on November 11th, and as the Hi-RiZe grinds to a final stop, a small black fox can be found waiting on the loading platform. It stands once noticed, tail wagging side to side as it darts down the steps to the ground level, only to stop there and wait once more.

This continues on, and eventually it becomes clear that the creature wants to be followed. It leads the way over towards Prize Alley, to the seal fountain that can be found in the clearing square. It hops up onto the outer wall, over the edge and into the water. By the time the insides of the fountain are close enough to be seen, however, the only sign that the fox was ever there are ripples across the surface of the water.

On the floor of the fountain glimmers a layer of gold tokens and coins, shining with an eerie blue light that refracts onto the gray stone foundation. They weren’t there before, but they certainly are now.

It’s 11:11. Make a wish!
announcementz It’s nearer to sunset when the park loudspeakers crackle and fizzle, and the usual theme park ambiance is replaced by a few moments of silence. It goes on for just long enough to be too long, and then a woman can be heard clearing her throat before speaking in a small, timid voice.

“H-hello and good evening, dear park guests! I wanted to announce that the destination for this year’s Holiday Getaway has been officially determined, and the final preparations are now taking place. Please, ah… If you haven’t signed up yet and want to come along with to an all expenses paid trip to Oh… Hee? Oh-hee-oh? Please remember to sign up! You have until the first to do so, at which point those who have not signed up will be… Left in the park for a month to fend for themselves? That can’t be… Th-thank you for your time everyone, and have a wonderful rest of your day!”

The speaker system beeps, clicking off entirely. It doesn’t come back on, plunging the park into an eerie quiet.
sleepover from hell | 11/19 The Hi-RiZe starts up as the sun begins to sink behind the horizon, gears and fastenings squeaking in protest as cold parts are forced to move. The hand creatures from before begin to emerge from the mist, sticking to the outskirts to begin with, but there’s no doubt to be had that they will become bolder and venture closer as the night progresses.

The dying sun reflects against something, the glint catching your eye. It’s a bit hard to see from this distance, but as you look towards the parking lot the view comes with a startling realization;

There’s a car parked outside the gates.

It’s a dark, sleek limousine with tinted black windows, a soft cloud of smog billowing out from the exhaust pipe. The engine idles as it sits there, seemingly just observing. For those curious (or brave) (or foolish) enough to investigate the car, they will find that the door to the passenger compartment is unlocked, and it swings open with little effort.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to open the driver’s cab, as even magic slides off like water along a duck’s back. The windows up front are also unyieldingly dark, and as a result it’s impossible to make out the shape of the driver within. The Hi-RiZe speeds up in the distance, each pod locking for the evening, and standing in the parking lot you’re left with two choices as the creatures in the mist begin to converge inwards; find somewhere safe to stay the night in the park itself, or climb into the car.

For those who choose the latter, the door swings shut behind the final passenger, lock clicking into place as the limousine begins to move. It drives into the mist, the view from the windows soon replaced by a thick, all-encompassing white fog.

Shapes can be sometimes seen as they pass through the murky air, darkened shadows that are often accompanied by terrible shrieks and bone chilling clicking noises. A hand presses against the glass, seventeen more following suit seconds later. The car rocks sideways before slamming back down onto all its wheels, and the shape beyond the glass moves on. It’s more of the same all evening, with inquisitive beings coming along to investigate the vehicle. It’s shoved, banged against, and even once or twice something lands on the roof with a heavy thunk, scampering across the length of the limousine before leaping off once again.

As the sun begins to rise again, the car pulls back into the parking lot, and the door unlocks before sliding itself open to allow each rider to disembark. Once every last guest hops off, the door slams shut, the lock clicks once more, and the limousine promptly drives away into the mist once more. It doesn’t return for the rest of the month.

wishful thinking
[If you step outside late at night, you too may see a grown adult (robot) (source needed also) running after a fox... clearly with some attempt to lock it in one of the empty Ferris wheel cars like he's been doing with most everything he finds "dangerous". No, Yesod will not learn his lesson, thanks.

Naturally, he soon after loses sight of the fox. It's gone, and he can't find it no matter how hard he tries. So, he turns his suspicion onto the golden coins, shaking his head.

The employees at the Corporation would regularly talk about making wishes on coins. This couldn't possibly be that, could it be? Yet he stares down into the water anyway, wondering if there might be a water monster in this fountain that's eating whoever's throwing coins in here. Because that makes sense to him, okay?

If you're hanging out, he doesn't say hi. He looks rather perturbed by the coins, actually, not noticing you're there.]

sleepover from hell
[Guess who has two guns and is SO FUCKING TIRED OF HAND MONSTERS?

The first time Yesod ever dealt with the hand monsters at the masquerade (offscreen) (because I was tired), they didn't... reaaaaaaaaaaaally respond to his guns overmuch, until such time when he shot them so full of holes they were forced to retreat. Most Abnormalities don't retreat after being shot/whacked/burned/magical girl'ed, so this is just normal to him. Not to anyone else, but to him? Yeah. Standard. Par for the course.

While you (and anyone else with you) happen to be climbing into the car for an escape, Yesod is... standing on the hood fucking firing. One of the handy-boys tries to swipe at him and he only narrowly dodges, jumping backwards in an action movie sort of style. A grabbing hand whiffs against the front of his blazer, and Yesod recalculates.

...

And then he does not get in the car, because he is an idiot.

Might wanna fucking grab him. Or let him die. That would be funny, too.]

m[a]ke a wish

[ Kanade never does anything for herself.

And the small black fox... she can't help but wonder if that's the one who made the footprints in her cabin. Their paws could possibly be similar to a dog's, right?

Well. Nobody said that she was an expert when it came to anything outside of music.

But with the way it seems to want to be followed, Kanade can't help herself. It might be dangerous, like anything else here. However, it's better if it's her rather than anyone else. That's something that she's sure about.

It's that kind of thinking, with utmost certainty that she winds up following the fox, all the way to the fountain.

    Huh.

Well, she supposes it isn't too bad. She looks at the time, realizing that it's 11:11 on November 11th-- and it all makes sense to her now.

She takes out one of her few coins, closes her eyes, and prays, making her wish deep in the recesses of her heart.

Please, I wish that everyone will continue to be safe.

It doesn't matter if she isn't safe, just as long as the others are. She doesn't want to see Mafuyu hurt anymore. She doesn't want to feel like she can't do anything for the people she cares about so deeply and become a failure of a composer.

    And so -

She tosses the coin in. ]

... I wonder if that worked.

[ Those are the words she says aloud, mostly to herself. But it's worth a shot, she thinks. What could possibly go wrong? ]

sen[b]onzakura

[ On most days, Kanade can be found at the Show-Tunez Stadium on her synthesizer, hard at work. And by that, it's obvious that she's practicing on figuring out a new song to play.

She's of course so focused on her music that she might even, uh... forget to eat. Or sleep.

    It's probably fine.

Of course, between trying to compose a new song, she might take some breaks and play a few older ones. ]

ino[c]hi ni kirawarete iru

[ In an attempt to try and help - "try" being the key word here - eventually Kanade manages, in the back half of the month to find the ones who are singing Mafuyu's song under the water.

She knows how dangerous it can be.

    But...

    She has to try something.

So she's at the lake. She plays a song. Again. Again. Again and again until her fingers just simply cannot anymore. ]
