[ The first two days, Kanade is absolutely in shambles.
As a friend, she feels awful. Mafuyu's disappeared, and to where - she doesn't know. It sends waves of panic rolling through her body, and she isn't sure where to even start. Worry sets in her eyes and while she doesn't scream or shout, she instead puts all of her efforts into frantically searching.
She can be found attempting to ride each of the amusement park rides twice, although she finds herself lingering at It'z Quite the Large World, pausing when she hears the all too familiar notes. ]
That song — Mafuyu...?
[ Again, and again, and again she goes trying to see if she can check the ride for her. But all it leads to is completely drenched clothes and bags under her eyes. She certainly hasn't been taking care of herself to eat or sleep while Mafuyu's gone, but nobody needs to know that. Shh. ]

[ While Kanade herself seems to be better when Mafuyu returns, the lack of sleep definitely has done... well, let's just say that it hasn't been a good time for her.
But she's pulled herself together after a while before opting to check out the lake. She looks at the flashing lights; rhythmic. Immediately, Kanade finds herself memorizing the pattern. The compulsion is there, to step forward but -
...
She can't. If she loses herself here, if anything happens, then how can she save anyone? She takes a step back. But if she sees something moving, the worry comes right back in full force.

[ On most days, Kanade can be found at the Show-TuneZ Stadium, playing on her piano.
There are an array of variousdifferentsongs that she's playing, many of them familiar to her.
But then she finds herself playing something new, trying to figure out a set of chords that would fit the melody. People might notice that she's experimenting; going through both major and minor progressions. She also seems to be writing down notes as well while she plays, but generally seems to be quiet. Don't mind her. ]

[ To be honest, Kanade isn't sure about celebrating Halloween. And outside of music, she just... isn't really good at most things. But she sure as hell will try her best.
And her best is.
Uh.
Not necessarily great, given that her carving is pretty sloppy. But eventually she puts a candle in, and finds herself just floating. Away she goes...! ]

( the stadium belongs to the goths- which is to say, mafuyu eventually joins kanade, sitting on the stage. and in her lap is a little toy rabbit, like its not super ominous or anything. mafuyu mostly listens at first, before... )
[ Hearing those words from Mafuyu, some genuine concern... there's something about it that stirs something in her heart. What that something is, however - Kanade can't place it. ]

I can't promise that, Mafuyu. If there's even the smallest chance that it can save someone, then I have to. It's the only thing that I'm able to do.
[ She's not athletic, or skilled, or talented at all outside of music. ]
( something sits in her chest and it's unpleasant and heavy. )
... You know that's why I was taken, right? I sang in the wrong place. I... If that happens to you too- if you feel the things I'm feeling now... I don't know what I'd do.
At the "It'z Quite the Large World" ride, right? When I was looking for you, I checked that ride several times. They were singing your song. I could tell.
I was... scared. And music makes me feel better. But then during the ride, I noticed... it was like the animatronics were asking for help. So I sang for them, instead.
But the moment I stopped, something grabbed the boat and shook it, and the animatronics echoed the song back at me, like they were demanding I keep going.
( and so she did. up until she couldn't make a sound. )
[ Those two words encapsulates all of the feelings she has right now.
An apology that she left Mafuyu alone. An apology for suggesting the idea that maybe music could save people. But she has to do something to save others. She has no other choice. If she can't, then... why is she here? ]
( somehow, mafuyu would prefer to be scolded. but that won't fix anything, will it? not parks abducting people. not rides spiriting you away for several days, or terrible mist, or whatever the hell the candles are doing. none of it.
...
mafuyu scoots a little closer to look at what kanade's written so far. )
I was seeing if I could figure something out with music... there were some rhythmic lights at the lake, so I thought that maybe it might make for a good tempo for a melody.
( mafuyu, perhaps for the first time, feels content to leave it at that. to sit beside kanade on the stage with her little demon bunny doll, and watch her work. anything else to say doesn't come to her, but she listens. )
