[Lots of people going into the water this time around, it seems! Noah has already drowned from his own stupidity there, and also is currently a catboy, a thing that I cannot believe keeps happening to him. The catboying persisted through drowning.
Not the point.
The point is, that when Mizuki emerges onto the shore, Noah's ears flatten back against his head and his tail puffs up in alarm. Panicked, he runs over to make sure none of those weird little arms try to drag Mizuki back in.]
Hey! Be careful near the water, there's— there's something dragging people in and drowning them!
[ Noah coming up to Mizuki and telling him the equivalence of “hey, water is wet”.
He huffs a bit, not at Noah, but rather just to the situation as a whole. It’s not as if the drowning part is what bothered him, he just couldn’t see and he hated being dragged and it was all just a very unpleasant experience. 0/10.
He reaches into his pockets to make sure his gaming consoles are still secure in their waterproof casings, turning them off and on to make sure they still work. If he had the time to leave them somewhere dry, he would have, but… ]
We’ve met. They got acquainted with me pretty quickly. You shouldn’t be so close, though. It might actually be a problem if you get grabbed. [ Felines are pretty notorious for not liking the water? ]
[Except he doesn't actually bother to tell Mizuki what it's about and, instead, stares down at the game consoles for a moment before motioning to say they should go further up on the shore.]
What kind of Nasod tech are those? I have a friend back home who'd be itching to take it apart.
[ Fortunately, Mizuki isn't the type to pry information out of people he's not really close to, so he's safe from at least Mizuki's reprimand. But also, bring your weird goldfish-even-though-Mizuki-keeps-calling-them-koi-eating buddy along for water shenanigans next time, maybe? Maybe then you won't drown???
He follows Noah further from the water, though. ]
What's "Nasud"? Is that a system of some kind? I don't think I've heard of it. I just got the stuff you'd expect. Maybe some older stuff, too. Like, I gotta Gameboy still. Works just fine, too. But that's just 'cause I like the more retro games.
Nas-odd, [he enunciates,] they're a special sort of technology, I guess? Some of them are sentient automatons. Add is always going on about how important they are and how advanced they are... if he shows up here, don't tell him, but I don't reaaaaally get it.
[Luckily Lavvy has been enslaved to play Clamor otherwise we'd have to burn that bridge.]
Oh! Then, I guess, sort of? I mean, they are technology, but… umm…
It's this… console here. And you uhh… you play games.
[ ??? How does one explain gameboys. Ugh. He just flips on the game console, actually— ]
Do you want to play? I'll show you! This game is called Pac-Man and you play as this little yellow mouth and you have to eat enough nutrients to become strong because if you don't, you'll just fall prey to others.
[It must be similar to the ZETA... or that's what he thinks, anyway. But yeah, he wants to play, and when they're far enough up on the shoreline so not to get grabbed, he plops down on the bank and politely takes the console.
Noah is somewhat-used to Magitech, which is a completely different but not entirely dissimilar thing to this, so... he figures out how to do things pretty quickly.]
Not like this, you can't. Like I said, the more nutrients you consume, the stronger you are! So, eating the big circles will make you strong enough to eat the ghosts. For a short amount of time, anyway. You'll know when you can eat them because they'll get scared and turn blue.
[ Mizuki absolutely has a strange understanding of Pac-Man, and passing it along to someone who knows nothing about video games is… a choice, probably, but he's having a good time! ]
[Listen. It works. Noah's at least getting the point.]
Oh! Got it.
[Taptaptap, clickclickclick.]
I'm assuming I have to eat everything on the map, right? So there's a strategy to how you go about the maze, isn't there?
[Noah's strategy so far is to hug the right wall. It's... a strategy. Clear the map one section at a time. Run for his life from ghosts. You know, pacman strats.]
THE FIRST ONE, FROM THE TOP THIS TIME, WITH LESS STUPID.
Not the point.
