Breathing in the smoke emitted makes Noah's ears begin to ring. His skin prickles and burns, and it feels for a moment as if something has bitten into his throat. It's to that sensation of razor sharp teeth rending his flesh that he eventually loses consciousness.
When he comes to once again, it becomes very apparent quite fast that he's been afflicted with some form of therianthropic curse. Although if the long, striped, prehensile tail is anything to gauge things by, it certainly isn't lupine in nature. In fact, upon further investigation the fuzzy ears that now perk up from his head seem decidedly feline in nature. The nails on his fingers have elongated into sharp claws, and tiger stripes crisscross his skin.
Normally, such an curse would mark the afflicted as a weretiger. Unfortunately (or fortunately) given how in this realm of reality the world seems to be stuck in a perpetual sunset, his own shifting has been impacted by this as well, leaving him in a sort of in-between state. Noah is - for all intents and purposes - more werecatboy than tiger.
